The general advice would be to come back with a real LSAT, because only then can you really determine where your reach or target schools will lie. Focus on getting the highest score possible because every point can have a significant difference.

However to answer your question, unfortunately your GPA will be viewed as a 3.72. That number is what schools are concerned about and what they have to report. That being said, you mentioned you have an addendum and it's not just freshmen laziness so it's hard to tell. It really depends on the officer reading your file. FWIW, an upward grade trend is looked favourably upon, and all else equal, your application would look better than a candidate with a 3.72 throughout undergrad.

Thank you for your response. So now, I guess my question is now whether or not Harvard will even consider accepting a non-URM female with a 3.72 regardless of LSAT score? I know that a high LSAT can offset a below median GPA, but in my case I fear there is no LSAT score high enough to justify my below 25% cumulative GPA.

def possible, but you'd need to be above their 75% to be in contention for the interview, then you'd have to kill the interview.

There have been some 3.6 admits in the last couple of cycles, though very few.

Does anyone have information regarding how powerful a GPA addendum can be for one isolated semester of poor grades (with legitimate explanation)? Has anyone been admitted to a school that would otherwise been considered a reach if not for the addendum?

you are having a "hard time" because you don't have a test score, which at many law schools, is 50+% of the admit process.

Every app pool is different. Just bcos H dips down one year to reach for a 3.7 female, doesn't mean that they will next year.

Assuming you clear 170 on the test, just apply to all of the T14 that you would consider attending. (If you hate small towns, for example, you might not want to move to Ithaca for three years.) Also consider applying to schools ranked lower that are known to provide plenty of merit aid so you can negotiate your way up the ladder.

and pt scores aren't always great indicators of how you'll do on the real thing

Huh? Harvard lets in plenty of 3.7x GPAs with scores at or above median but below the 75th. It's with 3.5x and 3.6x GPAs that an applicants really need an LSAT at or above the 75th.

It seems everyone on TLS who has yet to take the LSAT "expects" a 170+, but keep in mind only about 2.5/100 people score that high.

Prep tests or not, stress about your odds once you've actually got the goods.
