Accepted at NU last cycle

Had some work experience though, but honestly don't think that was the difference maker really
Do you mind if I ask what kind of work experience you had? Was it post-undergrad?

Thanks.

three years of post undergrad work.. but non-impressive, nothing notable.

I don't think that made much of a difference.. plenty of k-jds with my numbers got in as well
I think NU's work requirement is more of a "I did something" than "I did something awesome"

It is def worth applying if you have any sort of WE.

K-JDs exist, just not in large numbers. Either way anyone looking for a T14 for apply.

While I think NU places SOME value on WE, I just don't think it factors in as much as most ppl on TLS do.

They're interested in numbers just like everyone else.

The emphasis on WE has declined quite a bit with the drop in apps. A few years ago WE was effectively mandatory.

I really wouldn't be stressing out about your chances until you have an actual LSAT score. Lots of people "expect" a score in the 170s and end up with scores in the 150s or 160s.

Keep in mind only about 2.5 of every 100 LSAT takers break 170.

Right now, just focus on acheiving the highest LSAT possible. Don't stress about your options quite yet.

ah, could explain why so many people keep saying it, even though I don't really see it.

gotcha

I think NU has been quietly reducing its work experience emphasis in order to improve/maintain its LSAT median. If you hit your LSAT target and you do well on the interview component, you will most likely be admitted.

Take the LSAT first. I was a splitter with a 168 and was WL at NU (withdrew)

Whitespider: Agreed, LSAT is still the focus in the final (home stretch) month atm.

Do you think it matters that my work experience will still be relevant even though their emphasis on WE has declined?

thanks

In an age of declining apps, numbers rules. I'd say a 17X gets you in regardless of WE.
