Unless you get up to a 167 or higher, most of these aren't super reasonable, especially UVA Georgetown and Texas. Emory and UNC are doable. What's with schools all over the place, are you down to practice anywhere?darla2013 wrote:GPA 3.64 from top pub university, humanities degree
LSAT 163
Non URM
softs: heavily involved with particular political issue throughout undergrad (interned abroad for it), graduated with highest honors

Georgetown

Emory
UNC
UVA is the dream. I'm retaking in June but my practice scores have been all over the place this past week so not sure how I'll do. My problem is I'm more academic-y than standardized test-y so I'm hoping that will come through in my application and some adcom will be ok with it. I plan on EDing UVA but realize I don't have much of a shot unless I fare better on the retake...

You should also retake again unless you improve 5+ points if you really want UVA. You're going to need a 168 to have any real shot and 169 for a decent chance. You really need to stop focusing on this and keep grinding LSAT prep though.

It definitely helps a lot, but UVA is still a reach with your gpa (RD). If you ED...maybe, but sticker ain't worth it...darla2013 wrote:So, I retook in June and got a....169! Yay! I finally beat my test anxiety. My PT average was a smidge higher, but you take what you can get. How much of a game changer is this? I'm wondering if I should do UVA ED now, or apply RD and use $$ from a regional as a bargaining chip. I'm out of state though, and don't want to jeopardize my admission chances by playing the money game. I'm also wondering if I should add some higher ranked schools into the mix? How high can I reach?
In terms of geographic practice area, it's not that I'm down to practice anywhere, but more of a get into the best school I can, score a decent clerkship (hence the UVA first choice), and practice in DC/NY. I appreciate your feedback! My friends/family are of little help when it comes to law school stuff.
? Even if that regional is T30? Where's the line drawn?Bajam wrote:
You won't be able to use a regional to bargain with UVA.
