Top Law Schools

I have a 3.83 GPA and will most likely be a 3.86 after this semester. I am going to take the LSAT in June. Currently I am PTing right at 167 but I hope within the next 2 months to hit 170. I will graduate with two degrees (BS Accounting BA Finance) I'm not URM and don't have the best involvement record but I do hold an office within our accounting club. What are my chances even if I don't reach 170 by June?

Anyway, you should be fine at Berkeley with those stats. Your GPA is at median and your LSAT -- even at a 167 -- is at median.

I don't know if I'd say "fine at berkeley" with a 3.8/167, if this was cornell medians then yes, but Berkeley is much more unpredictable.

This is wrong. If he's a schmo-y K-JD he's going to have to hit 170 (and perhaps well above) to have any sort of shot at Berkeley. 3.85/167 would probably be dead in the water.

Yea that's what I'm worried about. I could probably do public accounting for a year to raise money and have job experience but I would rather go straight through so I don't lose momentum

You're much more likely to lose momentum (meaning get burnt out) by pushing straight through, IMO.

Berk is less numerically driven than other T14 schools, but only on the "accepted" side of admissions. I'd shoot for 170 minimum, 173 + for $$ and other school options for negotiating.
