I just want to know my chances with a 153 LSAT/3.5 GPA.
I'm trying to get into Georgia State Law and University of Georgia Law.

Are you a URM? Also, everyone on here is going to suggest a retake...and I would agree.

Yes I am. I did retake it in February and I didn't do so well.
I'm really disappointed in myself because I spent so much time studying.

That GPA is solid. Have you considered retaking and trying for Emory? I know it's not what you want to hear, but Emory gives you far better prospects than those schools. To answer your question, I would think you would get in to both those schools if you are a URM. Not sure what scholarship offers will look like. Good luck.

What were your study methods? How many hours did you put in? I agree that you can be admitted. But, why not take a year off, study hard, and retake in October? You could end up saving yourself tens of thousands of dollars. Nobody wants to hear it, but honestly it's the best play. There are some great resources on this site; you should take advantage of them and get up to the 160s.

Lol this is my year off. I graduated in 2013. I didn't have the money to take the classes but I took practice tests, bought the Kaplan LSAT book, I spent 6 months studying for the December LSAT usually 4 hours a day after work. My boss gave me the month off before the December LSAT so I could study more. But I barely had time to study for the February LSAT because of family problems.

almost definitely out at both
For a good shot, youre going to need, like, a 159+ for GSU and a 163+ for UGA
eta: nvm. urm. who knows. Probably out still.

OP is URM. Do you really think that he/she is "definitely out"? I'd say OP has a decent shot.

Sorry, I just read the OP.
somewhat depends on the kind of urm. When they applied is also a factor.
OP has a 50ish percentile score, while the median UGA law student has a 90ish percentile score. That's generally too much ground to expect the URM bump to cover.
Best option no matter what is to take the LSAT again. OP, you probably have a lot of room to improve with the right resources. PSBs + Manhattan ftw.

People with that GPA have gotten T14 full rides this cycle. Study more then retake again.
