Joining the Peace corps as a 'rehabilitative effort' is a bad idea. Also, they probs won't be a fan of this stuff.

For fuck's sake, dude.

If I were an adcomm, I wouldn't touch you with a thirty-foot pole. Why should they admit someone who, from all appearances, is probably going to end up arrested again for something retarded before the school year even starts? You need to sort your shit out and FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING HOLY STOP GETTING IN TROUBLE for a good long while. Get a job, and don't get so much as a parking ticket for at least a year, probably two. Demonstrate that you are capable of adult, law-abiding behavior and have learned something from your many mistakes. Volunteer somewhere. Pay your bills. Show up for court when they tell you to. Don't put yourself in situations where a domestic abuse case is opened, whether that means not being an abusive dick or not dating crazy women. Learn how to drive. Don't join drug legalization groups. Stop getting in fights. Stop flipping off cops. Basically, act like a grownup and not a brain-dead delinquent asshole.

And you may already be too far gone to ever be admitted to the bar in some states anyway, although that's a question for a lawyer who knows these things.

1) You should seriously consider the prospect of some counseling. I think there are some anger and self-sabotaging issues here, honestly. Someone who is bright enough to get an IE degree and a 170 should be able to pick up on this when the laundry list takes 15 minutes to type up.

2) Rinkrat probably knows what she is talking about. I'm a 0L, and if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't be worried about admissions so much as the bar. The level of disregard you seem to have for the justice system is brazen. Violating the same order multiple times, being charged with the same offenses repeatedly, etc. You should probably talk to a bar lawyer in your state before you invest too much time, money, and hope in the law school admissions game. There's no sense worrying about admissions until you get some level of confidence about being able to practice somewhere.

You'll definitely under perform your numbers. Who knows how bad tho. Its going to be unpredictable.

Apply everywhere and see what happens.

You clearly read a substantial portion of my original post, and your suggestion of consulting an attorney for bar admission potential-related inquiries is something I'll have to look into.
Definitely, definitely do this. You may be alright in the end, but LS is a HUGE investment. Gotta make sure that it can pay off for you.

By "underperform your numbers," Nova means that you will likely get much worse admissions results than someone with the same GPA/LSAT as you but a clean record.

Reformation, contrition, and time are the only way to dull the effects of bad past behavior. Stay out of trouble for three years and your results might be more in line with a 170/3.56 who's never been arrested. Right now, your results will suck.

I wouldn't sweat it. Most of this is just boys will be boys fun. I assume some schools will be bothered if they have stick in the mud adcomms, but a lot of schools won't care.

Schools want diversity. You will certainly bring something to the table that more vanilla applicants lack.

To top it off, Industrial Engineering is not sought out for patent attorneys.

Why do you want to go to law school? You don't sound like someone settled enough in life to make big career decisions right now.

That's not the same as saying this is all "boys will be boys fun", that only "stick in the mud adcomms" will care, or that criminal behavior counts as diversity.

I agree with most of what has been said here. Get a job, stay out of trouble for at least a couple years (not even a seat belt ticket), get counseling, do major research to make sure you won't have problems when it comes bar time. I can't comment on whether the Peace Corps is a worth while venture in your case, I'm sure others smarter than me can comment on that. The one point I would disagree with is avoiding involvement with NORML. I think this part of your application is impressive (I'm a non-pot smoker). The social tide is clearly shifting and a large chunk of the population believes that there is room in this country for more relaxed marijuana laws. I anticipate that NORML and other similar organizations will be highly active while they have a friendly administration in the White House and with a movement to release non-violent offenders from over populated prisons. Depending on the school you apply to and adcomm you receive they could like this portion of your application.

Keep in mind, if you continue to get in trouble with the law while being involved with NORML then you just look like a criminal drug addict that is bound for prison.

This actually made me laugh out loud!

How did this not affect you getting into undergrad? I legit don't even believe the OP and it's a joke, no way he has this record.

God almighty that's a lot.

I second the people saying to stick it out for a couple of years and just stay of trouble for a couple of years, then revisit the idea of law school. Discuss possible bar admittance with a lawyer, THEN make a law school decision. Your LSAT score will hold for 5 years, and your GPA will always be there. Then if you do decide to apply, I would spend a long while thinking about that addendum :P

Good luck!
