Likely in all four RD, so I wouldn't sweat the ED unless you have full GI bill, making cost much less of a factor. If you have GI bill, pick your top choice and use it.

I had very similar numbers and decent WE (your military experience is probably better), these were my results for the schools you listed. I imagine you're in a better position than I was.

Michigan - didnt apply
NU - accepted (they put their money where their mouth is on the whole WE thing)
GULC - interviewed, rejected
Cornell - reserve

Notes: 1) I didn't ED anywhere. 2) I have a couple C&F issues

Also, if you get to the GULC interview, pretty sure what they want to hear more than anything is that its your top choice. I told my interviewer I was concerned it might not be worth the additional 100k since I have in state tuition for Texas....probably a mistake, but I'm debt averse and didn't really care about going as much as some of my other options.

Hope that helps, good luck.

How set are you on Michigan as your first choice? In your position, I'd ED to NU if they offer the same ED scholarship next year. It lines up with your goals and that $150k would outpace your GI bill benefits which are capped at ~$20k/year (YRP is a different story, but I know NU offers a $10k match for only a few students. This replaces any school scholarships, though.)

NU's YRP match is $15k. Combined with the VA tossing in $15k for YRP + full G.I. Bill = about $5500 out of pocket and that's it. And there are 10 slots for the law school as a whole for YRP. I think there are currently 3 or 4 students using the benefit at NU and they've never really come close to denying someone based on hitting the 10 number.

Michigan will be 100% free with full G.I Bill + YRP, so an ED won't hurt you there.

I think you'll be in RD to GU & C for sure, so don't burn an ED there. Probably in RD at UM as well.

You might consider a June/October retake though and could sneak into some schools in the T6, even with a 3.3.

You're right, it is $15k. I got 10 from another school, I guess.

Maybe I'm just being over-cautious since my remaining GI Bill will only cover 1L, but I still think NU ED is a viable option if OP is ok without Michigan. The ED scholly with GI Bill backing it up would cover all tuition and fees and still provide the housing allowance.

Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it. I won't be able to retake due to my deployment schedule unfortunately.

Unlikely to change anything. Apply and I would imagine you'd get most if not all of these options.

With the lower LSDAS GPA, I'd ED to NU. Friendly to non-traditionals with work experience and friendly to splitters = friendly to you. Show them you're serious.

Can't forget about the 150k, "we're sniping CLS and uchicago prospects" nature of NU ED. Maybe it would show seriousness toward NU , but they'd still be relegated to RD more than likely and still be a traditional RD accept. No shame in that, just wanted to make sure that everyone is aware that 3.3/169 is not getting the ED by and large.

I had identical numbers minus the military and got in via ED to Michigan, no scholly though
