TLS wisdom says it won't matter. You're golden barring any C&F issues.

ETA: I was referring only to Harvard. Didn't realize it said HYS. Mindfart haha.

No C&F issues. Clean slate. So treat as if 3.95/173?
Yes.

a virtual lock, unless you have assault charges pending, (or your recs say that you cheat).

Great shot at H. Not sure how picky YS are with retakes but you're well within their desired number medians.

Whatever happens with Stanford probably won't be related to the retake question. S just seems to be more GPA-focused than H and overall more holistic, supposedly. I got into Stanford on the first round of admits last cycle with a 164/173 and 3.97. Can't speak to Yale - I was waitlisted there, and I have no way of knowing whether my earlier lower score counted against me significantly or played only a trivial role. Agree that you should be solid at H.

Awesome, thank you. Your personal experience is encouraging. I'd be happy with even a WL at Y to be honest. I feel like the rest of my package is strong enough that only the multiple retakes are a downside... just wasn't sure how much of one.
For what its worth, I got into S with 168/173 and a 3.9x. Although I'm also URM and people tell me I had a good shot even without the retake.

Didn't apply to Yale.

For the record, not URM. Think I had a stronger than average package (letters/resume/work experience/PS), which definitely helped for S and helped me get waitlisted at Y. I should clarify re: H, you have a strong shot, but this assumes that the rest of your application and interview ability is decent. Good luck with all.

Should be in at HArvard, in or waitlisted at Yale & Stanford because they are both much smaller than Harvard & not due to your retakes, in my opinion.
