3.2 168 waitlisted at virginia

Is there any hope? I hear their waitlist is a beast. By the same token is this a good sign for admission at other schools? Realistically I want to try to get in at usc, it seems strange virginia would waitlist someone below both medians.

You know how people apply to safety schools that they would never actually attend? It's a similar concept.
They might also be preparing for a worst case scenario of a median drop.
I would think you have a really solid shot at acceptance to USC.
