Most of the top schools are left-leaning; they won't like the fact that you rescued Marines. But you should have a good shot at George Mason and Pepperdine w/$$$.

I can promise you I'm not a troll. I'm just someone looking for advice. Why would someone troll on a law forum anyway? Seems like a waste of time and effort...

So what are the reasons beyond your control? Write an addendum and you can go anywhere.

Can't fight this logic. I'm sorry that we didn't take your post seriously. If your situation is for real, then I suggest that you retake.

Since you're the only person who's not inexplicably acting like an asshole to me, the reasons are that my wife has breast cancer and I had to withdraw two semesters to help her out. But as my prelaw advisor said, law schools don't care about reasons and W's always get your rejected. As for everyone else, bite me, so much for wanting real advice.

Assuming you're not a troll:
I was in almost exactly your situation last year (3.78/177 with multiple Ws on my transcript), and I got into all of HYS. I was from a higher-ranked UG and had good work experience, which may have helped, and I had fewer Ws than you (<5), but point is, you should apply everywhere. At a minimum, you should be in somewhere in the T14.

Hahaha... So you're married to a woman with breast cancer and yet still have plenty of free time to be a scoutmaster, coach the special Olympics, design an app for the disabled, study for a near perfect score on the LSAT and regularly consult with your prelaw adviser? That will be one hell of an addendum.

You forgot "receive the U.S. Congressional Medal of Merit for rescuing Marines".

do you think rescuing marines falls under "voluntary public service" or "expedition/exploration"?

Basically OP, you are either a troll or you have nothing to worry about.
If you are a troll, you deserve whatever abuse you are getting here.
If you aren't a troll, you not be super offended that everyone is calling you a troll. It means your situation is incredible, and the answer is so obvious that we on this forum can't believe that you exist and are asking such ridiculous questions about attending schools that you are WAY overqualified for.
The answer is: If you truly are a 3.77 GPA, 178 LSAT, financially disadvantaged student with such incredible softs, you will get into amazing schools. Congrats. Now stop asking questions.

Awarded the US Congressional Medal of Merit for rescuing some marines (long story)
Long story or not, I'd love to hear it, because it's got to be a doozy. That's nowhere close to what the Medal of Merit is intended to recognize.
