3.8/170 Any chance at Harvard, Berkeley and Stanford?

3.8 GPA (Magna) from University of California San Diego
170 LSAT

Good Softs? Three UG internships in law related
Places (District Attorney, Congressional Office, DC Law
at ALEC)

Letters of Rec from Congressmen, District Attorney and
Ivy Professor.

First Generation college student. Was homeless
part of undergrad and homeschooled K-12.

Published research from UG Honors

I have taken all of the chance calculators and
studied all the entering class profiles. I'd like to
know since my GPA isn't as high as I want it to be what
I can do or if I'm crazy for even applying to HS or Cal.

And do my Softs do anything to help me?

If these three aren't a possibility what are some comparable (in your opinion)
schools that are possible with these stats?

Thanks guys

Good chances at Cal numbers-wise, but their admissions is hit and miss ("holistic"). It will come down to softs. Your cali resident status will help.

Below both medians at HS.. Many people with better stats have been WLd or dinged. Retake for 173+ and you'd be golden for H though. As it is, go ahead and apply but chances are slim.

You're solid at NYU and down.

This. Depending on how you know these people you may want to get better letters,

Berkeley isn't as numbers-focused as the rest of the T14. OP has some soft-factors that would probably help there, but a lack of academic LORs could kill an app.

Do people really submit recommendations from their congressman? I mean, the point of the recommendations is to prove you can behave reasonably in an academic/work environment. How would your congressman know that?

Two of the letters ( Professor and DA) I did graded
work for. The Congressman was my boss. They all are fairly
personal.

I've got virtually identical numbers and very comparable softs (albeit without the homeless thing). I'm in at Berkeley and was lucky enough to snag a JS1. Definitely worth applying. Best of luck.

3.82/170 here, in at Boalt and WLd at H last cycle. Definitely do-able. Also was not homeless - that should give you a boost in my book.

Trying for HYS with a 173 now. Hope to see you there bro. Best of luck!

Ok, so Im thinking retake for LSAT if I seriously
want Harvard. Hopefully my backstory might
help my lowish gpa for Boalt.

Thanks all for your help!
