Hypothetically, what would that do to one's admission prospects? Would they outperform their numbers?

i'd say a recommendation from president obama would only be impressive if it could address your character / achievement in a meaningful & personal way. and if you could actually score this insane type of letter, you wouldn't be asking TLSers abt how it would benefit your applications

Have it mailed to your address instead of lsac. Frame it over your fireplace as a discussion piece for the next time you have company and send lsac an LOR from a professor or former employer.

Hypothetically those people if you two know each other well and you actually did some work for/within (wow), this letter is going to kill it for you.
But chances are Obama will never write a letter for a law school applicant...not by himself at least...

I think if you're in a position where the President of the United States is willing to write you a letter of recommendation (as in, a letter with substantive stuff that reflects an actual close relationship) then yes, you would outperform your numbers. Working closely with the President is a pretty mind-blowing soft factor.
That said, if it's some kind of generic letter that's available to any field office volunteer during the reelection campaign and stamped with his signature, then no.

which is about 1/500th as significant as a visit in-person would be.
