Acceptance at UVA Law?
GPA: 3.7 with three S's
LSAT: to be taken
Degree: Brown University Sc.B. with Honors in Neuroscience
Extremely large number of strong non-academic extracurriculars
A few academic awards: Honors Thesis, etc
Would have a very interesting personal statement -> had intention of be a medical doctor, father's a doctor, family stories of his practice at the hospital, chairman at NYU
Top Choice: University of Virginia School of Law

Get a 170+ and write a strong 'Why UVA' and I'd say you have a good shot. Just focus on the LSAT for now, though.

Yup. Your credentials really do lend themselves to medicine though. You'll have to be careful with your personal statement.HorseThief wrote:Get a 170+ and write a strong 'Why UVA' and I'd say you have a good shot. Just focus on the LSAT for now, though.

So you wanted to be a doctor but got a C in organic chemistry and switched majors before it ruined your GPA?
Also, on your PS, you want to impress them with things about you. "My father is an impressive doctor at NYU" doesn't really make adcoms want to admit you.

+1. Also, make sure you have a clear and good reason for choosing law over medicine. UVA does interviews and this will undoubtedly come up.HorseThief wrote:Get a 170+ and write a strong 'Why UVA' and I'd say you have a good shot. Just focus on the LSAT for now, though.
