There are a lot of issues, but I'll start with this: Strike American -- you'll be paying sticker at the 4th best school in a city where not only the students at the other three schools want to be, but also all T14s.

As for the rest, is there a reason your list is so disparate geographically? And what is it you're targeting in terms of career, location, etc.? Where are your ties? Also, what were the criteria behind the list? I'm not sure I see the pattern.

I would add some more reaches. Why are you applying to Brooklyn and Cardozo and not Fordham?

Also, have you retaken the LSAT yet?

I've not retaken. I was looking for some guidance on how my cycle is likely to go in terms of admission as things stand now. I guess your silence implies I should stick with LSN and LSP.

My ties are in Connecticut but I'm really going school-by-school and have determined I like these places.

If you retake and bump up your score just a few points you'll be in so much better shape.

I know...I'm weighing it, but I'd most likely have to wait until next cycle.

Do you have a job?

I'm an AmeriCorps*VISTA Leader right now but I won't have a job come next June. I'm ready to move on from AmeriCorps and I don't want to get locked into a career. I'm at a point where I have enough experience to get some program-management job somewhere, but I'd rather start school next year.

And don't you think my GPA will be a constraint in terms of scholarship money no matter how high my LSAT is?

And the film is in the can at W&L, Baylor, and UConn--meaning I've already applied.

It depends what schools you mean. I applied to many of the same schools 3 years ago, and I had almost the same numbers. I got almost a full ride at Brooklyn and 20k/yr at Cardozo. I imagine with the smaller application pool you will do even better now.

You should still retake.

I know you said you've already applied, but I would recommend staying away from W&L. Despite their relatively high rank, their employment numbers are atrocious: http://www.lstscorereports.com/?school= ... =employers. If you want to stay in the area, W&M is the superior choice and it is far cheaper. I'd also recommend applying to WUSTL because their median will likely drop below 166 this year based on reports that they will be unable to be as generous with $$$. And if you get your LSAT past 170, you have an excellent shot at a number of T14 schools.

Additionally, SMU/UH > Baylor.

What are your thoughts on disclosing other schools you're applying to in an application?

I love Texas, actually. Last time I was there I got to stay in a Christian commune. Long story. Fun times. I am not a Christian. I'll just bring that story up during interviews.

And if Baylor sucks so hard how come grads consistently demolish the bar exam?

Passing the bar exam is not a valid measurement of the strengths of a school.

Oh, okay. Then I guess Cooley's 43% pass rate doesn't factor into anyone's assessment of its quality...
