That is, for H alone, pretend I have a 173 and 50-75 GPA
For CLS, 171 exactly, and 50-75 GPA
and so on.

i.e., I have a 169, 173, or somewhere in between. This way, when we pretend I have a 170, I don't get any "don't cancel if you're aiming for H".
This isn't a hypo. I have a real LSAT score and my GPA is in those ranges.

2nd take: didn't get a lot of sleep, first LR was a blur. went on cruise mode in a bad way, didn't carefully scrutinize anything. rest of the test was better but not optimal. 50/50 chance I start with -2 in the other 4 sections, not counting LR1. LR1 could be really bad.

The thing is, I already have a competitive score for CLS let's say. 171->cancel, 171->172, and 171->lower all look bad.

I'm asking: If HCCN care about retakes, is it better to just cancel and stick with an exactly median LSAT, or stick it out and hope I get slightly higher?
Your highest score is all that matters. Stick it out. 171 and 169 isn't gonna hurt you, but 171 and 172 will help.

Also, wtf is this. Give your LSAT score and GPA (or at least a narrower range) if you want helpful advice in the future. You're not gonna out yourself because you're not in law school, and no one gives a shit.

I don't know what's happening here, but don't cancel if you think you might have actually done better than last time around.

Yeah just roll with it. It sounds like you did pretty well and are in a position where a few of those 50-50 questions will determine whether you did better or worse. It's worth finding out.

You have no reason to cancel. Unless you feel like you got a 165 or lower, keep it.

Also, wtf, Harvard gets like 3000+ applications a year. You're not going to out yourself, and even if you did, no one cares.

Reading this OP felt like reading an unnecessarily confusing experimental LR question. It seems apparent that no one cares if you score slightly lower, but everyone cares if you score even a point higher. Wait a day or two so that you can clear your head and then if you still want to cancel go ahead, but I personally see no reason to.

how should I phrase the question? it seems like he'd need to know how I did, but I don't want to be like oh by the way I got a 172.

Should I just say. I already have a score above but really close to your 50th percentile? or is that still bad?
I would avoid talking this much about the LSAT at all

Why would one worry about "outting" themselves if they are applying to law schools?

+1

I think 172/cancel is about the same as 172/171 in that they both <<<<<<<< 172/174. Ride it out. Also go pop a xanax and play some video games bro

Edit: to try to answer the unnecessary and convulted hypothetical you've set up for some reason, if you're at both medians, you're in a good position. So don't cancel. Schools have very little motivation to pay attention to a second, lower LSAT score, especially this cycle.
