27 Years old with 5 years of WE. (3 years Corporate (non-law related) and 2 years entrepreneurial)
172 LSAT
2.7 GPA (worked throughout college, but definitely could have managed time more efficiently)

What schools should I submit an application for?
Will schools look at my lack of legal work experience as a negative?

I would say ED at Northwestern (for the full scholarship) is worth a try with that LSAT and WE. Lack of legal experience is inconsequential.

OP should ED because I think it would give him an RD bump but no way that GPA gets him the $50k/year.

Are there any schools that I am overlooking?

Throw out UCI and Hastings and apply to USC and UCLA.

USC and UCLA are unlikely to take a sub 3.0.

I have no idea why we keep seeing this advice here. NU does not give out full rides to people with bad GPAs. The purpose of the full-ride ED is to lure applicants from CCN, not to lock down splitters for median maintenance.

OP, you have a strong shot at RD admission to NU.

I am definitely not expecting a scholly from NU. Do you guys think that the decline in applications will continue this year?

My guess is the the decline will continue, but the rate of decline will lessen.

I'm gonna guess the other way. June LSAT registrations were down 5% from last year, we'll have a much better idea after Oct registration release, but it doesn't seem to be getting better.

Near-exact stats, CA boy, and same age when I applied last cycle. Got some cash from NU and GULC after riding waitlists, and am at Northwestern now. Applying to Hastings was a waste of time, but UCI gave me a full ride which was tempting, and was at least valuable for negotiating purposes. Ditto for WUSTL, which you should definitely add to your list, even if you have no intention of going.

If I could do it again? I'd be curious to see what an ED to UVA would've yielded (although looking back on it now, I'm glad I'm here and not in Virginia). Also would've tossed an app to UCLA and USC. I didn't apply to those two because, as above posters have noted, it wasn't likely I'd get in. But you never know in today's law school app world. And if you do get in, it's better to have too many options as opposed to too few. PM me if you have questions; best of luck!

Good application strategy, but get rid of UC Hastings since they basically decided to because a third tier school (LSAT median dropped to a 159 this year). If I were you, I'd shoot applications out to UCLA, USC, and UCI, because UCI will probably give you a full ride (don't go if they dont) and there's still a chance, albeit a small one, that UCI still can place students into jobs. Northwestern is probably the best fit for someone with your numbers.
