Hey there.

The Good

3.87 from a Big 10 Uni.
Department Awards.
Resident Advisor Position.

The Bad

149 on my first LSAT last June. *despair*
Totally wasn't prepared.

The Maybe

Practicing at least four hours daily.
Currently scoring -4 to -6 on timed practice sessions.
Practice exam scores improving rapidly.

Even if I score (near) perfect on the October exam, that puts my average at 164-ish. Where should I apply? How should I apply? How can I compensate for the huge potential gap in my scores?

Thanks for reading.

No one has averaged scores directly since like 2009, and only HYS will even consider your previous poor performance. Chill out, study hard for your retake, and come back with your score. If you hit 170+ you're in a great spot for CCN and below w/ big $ at lower T14

Play around on http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com and http://www.mylsn.info . They will give you an idea of where could be competitive depending on your lsat

We really can't help you decide where to apply until you get your new score
