Won't matter at all. Include a very brief addendum, if you want.

Years of TLS info indicates that it's a non-issue. You can explain your reasons (illness) in a three- or four-sentence addendum, if you wish.
Law schools care about the GPA that the LSAC calculates, because this is the one reported to USNWR for ranking purposes.
Wow, just noticed you are a freshman. You are definitely getting ahead of yourself. Follow bee's advice.

Lol you guy's are not the first ones to have told me that.
Could you guys comment on the utility/futility of taking 100 level courses in your second year?
So far, I have my schedule organized around mostly 200 level classes. Is this a mistake? Will HYS judge my course selection?

That was has been my philosophy ever since I started University. I believe that it was through choosing classes I enjoyed that I was able to score a 4.00.
How does my University sound to you guys? Like I said, its ranked 4 -5 place in Canada.

In terms of "prestige" there's a pretty big drop after the top 3 or 4 in Canada, and I've never heard UofAlberta on that shortlist. But worry not, for it doesn't matter!
Chill, you're fine -- Just keep your GPA above 3.9, graduate, and along the way hit a 99th percentile on the LSAT. If you're this neurotic as a first year undergrad, though, stay the hell away from these forums until you're applying because they'll drive you over the edge in no-time.
Edit - Congrats on the 4.0 year, by the way.

Ok guys, I am chilling. This is just my personality: I'm Jewish hahaha.
But seriously though, will taking 3 100 levels classes (two of which are requirements) in my second year look bad?

Okay...pretty much nothing matters besides your GPA/LSAT/URM status. You're either a URM or you aren't. That's something to stop worrying about. You won't take your LSAT for at least another year. Another thing to stop worrying about. You have a great GPA. Bam, no worries.
Maintain your GPA, take whatever classes you can to get your degree, and have fun. All the soft factors will come naturally if you're doing something you enjoy.

I have a W on my transcript, I attended two different community/junior colleges (spending six years finishing my four year degree) and took a ridiculous number of easy classes that I didn't need for anything before finishing at a lowly state U with a joke major. No law school has ever asked about ANYTHING on my transcript or cared to ask why I spent so much time in community college. Law schools don't give a shit. They saw that my LSDAS GPA was over their median and dat 175 LSAT and checked the "full tuition scholarship" box.
You're asking silly questions. You think an admissions dean has time to wonder why an applicant too a 100 level course in their second year when they have 5,000 other applications to look through? Hell no. In all likelihood they won't even touch your transcripts. That's what the LSDAS report is for.

Thank you TripTrip, that was the kind answer I was looking for.
May I ask what techniques you used to get that 175?

Glad I could help!
For LSAT study, it depends on your style. If you're a good self-studier, order all the previous LSATs and do every question ever. If you need some structure, take a class like TestMasters.

OP must be a blast at parties.
ETA: Look, the point is that you should really try to take the good advice being offered in this thread and stop worrying about this. You're obviously doing great in school. You're doing way better than I did, and I'm a 1L at HLS now. And I had several W's on my transcript.
Work hard and do well, but christ, you're in college. Try to enjoy yourself. Don't focus on Harvard Law non-stop. In any case, you'll be a far more compelling candidate if you develop some interests and have some experiences that are unrelated to law.

No one cares about Uni prestige outside HYPS, Oxbridge

So, in your guy's opinion, are 100 level courses in your second year fair game?
Sorry for being repetitive or annoying. I just want to make sure that my class schedule for the second year will not set off any alarm bells when I apply to HYS 3 years down the road.

Dude, why are we still on this question? All the obnoxious replies ITT are because this question is ridiculous. If you haven't figured out the answer by now, you are beyond hope. Go drink a beer or something then come back next year and ask if you should take 100 level courses in your third year. The answer will be the same.
ETA: Since you're a freshman, I felt like I should come back and be nice. I just checked my transcripts, just for you. In my third year, I took
exclusively 100 level courses. It's never come up during any conversations with any admissions dean.

That's a valid question. I have an interview with Harvard this week; I'll let you know if my 100 level courses from six years ago come up.

Wow! That's impressive man.
Could I ask you some questions just out of curiosity? I've never talked to a future Harvard grad haha.
