Great.

I understand everything you will all tell me. I'm still very much open to a June retake. I just want to know my chances.

Bro, if you aren't trolling, there's nothing that's not disgraceful about your numbers. You need to retake so you don't get on the superhighway with one exit - unemployment.

LionelHutzJD wrote:Actually, I haven't taken the LSAT yet. I'm using the 159 as a early predictor (haha?). But I am taking it in October and have begun my prep work along with a three month testmasters course coming up in July. I live in NYC and these are some of the schools i would like to have as safety schools.

you may get into NYLS but they are thieves. it is astronomically expensive and they offer no job prospects.

Minus the LSAT score i have a solid application. 2 great LOR, a nicely written personal statement, and nice softs.

probs. but i don't think you want to attend any of those schools. if you have only taken the LSAT once, you have room for a lot of improvement. there are people on TLS who went from like a 148 to 17x. It can be done. Hit the books, get the score, go to a real law school and then profit.

I'll give you the advice that someone gave you in another thread you started - If you were PTing around 162, it'd be a much better idea to retake. Having taken the test at least once already, you will know what the experience is like, etc.

I heed your warning. However, i do think this board goes a little overboard with it. I mean i have a friend right out of albany with a solid job. It can be done. And albany looks like a really nice school, job prospects aside.

you might get a WL acceptance with the way applications are down this year. but i don't see you getting a straight admit, no.

I do think the experience IS what threw me off. That, and a ridic RC section being the first section. Idk man, i just dont wanna wait a year. and i can always transfer.

Yea, none of that matters. The LSAT is the most important piece of the puzzle and yours is beyond bad. You need to retake to have any shot at these schools, and then you need to think long and hard about the risks of attending them.

Yeah i know its dat piece but i might consider albany honestly. solid location and from the looks of it, a nice school.

No, you can't 'always transfer.' You can only transfer if you're in the top 10%, and chances are that wont happen.

Exactly my point. The experience threw you off, so you now know what to expect. I understand you don't want to wait a year as it may feel like an extremely daunting task trying to figure out what to do with that year, but would you rather put off law school for one year to have the chance at less debt and a better job, or would you rather start now KNOWING that you could have done better? The second option sounds like a lifetime of regret to me - just saying.
