Retake. Even a 160-162 will give you a shot at almost everywhere in the T14 but YS.

+1. Don't waste that awesome GPA on a 153.

The gods would weep if you didn't retake.

3.8 gpa + URM status?

you need to retake. not only would you be wasting that stellar gpa, but you'd be wasting that URM boost. retake for even a 162, which would give you a decent shot at a school you should be attending.

I was really disappointed when I landed the 152 in October and then I figured a low of 158 and high of 163 and I scored a 153. it kind of blew me out of the water.

so are you saying you've taken it twice? im not quite sure about the general rule but im pretty sure you can try it one more time. perhaps try changing up your study habits?

have you visited the tls lsat forums? VERY helpful. at least give it a final shot first before you lock in a score. you're not in THAT much trouble because of your gpa and urm status but you'd be in a much BETTER situation if you had even a slightly higher lsat.

I just decided to apply for law school over a doctorate in Political Science this summer during an internship. And I had my capstone to write. My study skills are good. Perhaps I need more time, like all of the summer and September, retake in October and aim for the 2014-15. I'd like to see where I'm in and what money's offered this cycle and decide from there.

I promise you it will be worth it. If you were to score even in the low 160s, you'd have an awesome shot at the T-14.

Regardless of what money may be offered to you this cycle, it'll probably be a lot more if you apply next cycle with a higher lsat.

Great feedback. I'm waiting to see how the chips fall this cycle and deciding from there.

Dude, a 162 and he's T6 secure and has a good shot at HYS. Mid-160s and he's basically HYS secure. RETAKE.
