167, 3.3 | Chances at Minnesota/Iowa/Wisconsin?

Post by historicrep » Mon Jan 14, 2013 7:41 pm

Hey all,

with a 167 / 3.3 planning to submit in the next few days, what are my chances at the above three schools? Really looking to stay in and practice in the Midwest.

For clarity, NON URM, weak softs due to extreme financial need causing me to work 35+ hours a week in undergrad

Appreciate the prompt responses.

I was under the assumption that applying this late in the cycle would hurt my chances a significant amount, glad to see you both don't think that is the case.

This is the best cycle in recent history...why would it hurt your chances?

Just assumed your chances of acceptance are significantly hampered when you apply post January 1st, or at least that is the conventional wisdom I've been fed.

I swear hearing about how great this cycle is has me worried since I'm not applying until the next cycle. Knowing my luck this next cycle won't be near as good as this one.

You should be fine, the legal hiring market likely isn't changing in the near future.
