Seems hella unlikely for non URM.

Does anyone know what my chances of

a) getting on the waitlist at Columbia would be and
b) rough chances of getting off waitlist at Columbia
c) Chicago RD and ED
d) Stanford

I figure if there is a greater than 10% chance of getting into any of them I might as well apply.

ETA: if you're looking to apply this cycle, everything basically becomes zero. You'll need to apply early with your numbers. People will tell you to retake and they're right. I retook a 166 and now have a 169/4.0. The first time around I scraped into UVA ED, but this cycle I'm 8/8 on T14s with a 75k scholly at UVA.

For Columbia, you could get on the waitlist, but I don't like your chances of getting off. For Chicago RD, its a possibility for acceptance, though also small. All of this based off of looking at LSN from the past few years.

Keep in mind, this cycle is completely wacky due to the 20% drop in applicants. People are getting money for relatively un-outstanding numbers and splitters seem to be having a lot of success. I know of someone that got into UVA ED with your numbers, for example. I would say Chicago and Columbia are worth it to roll the dice, but I don't see Standford being an option, just based on prior numbers. Take that with a healthy 2012-2013 cycle grain of salt, though.

A huge flame unless you are URM or have some world-class softs.

Definitely retake. 2 years ago, I was a 164/4.0. Now I am a 172/4.0 and have been really grateful thus far in terms of how my cycle has gone. You should shoot for 170+, but even if you gain just 2-3 points, it will make a huge difference both for acceptances and scholarship offers.

Better than 10%, probably closer to 20-30% with an ED. This and next cycle, Chicago's going to have to push hard to keep their median GPA up.

If you got your LSAT score up 6 more points, instead of having a third of a chance of going to Chicago at sticker, you could go to HYS or T14 for free. 7 points, and you're looking at CCN for free.

For the next 6 months to 9 months of your life, someone's going to pay you 200k in the short term, and 2.5m+ in the long term to study for the LSAT. That's like winning the frigging lottery by putting in a few hours a day of effort max.

Once I had to choose between saving a dozen orphans from falling into a volcano and getting kicked in the balls. Telling OP to retake the LSAT is still the easiest decision I've ever had to make.

And yeah, OP, don't waste that goddamn 4.0 that so many TLSers would kill for.

My cycle is a couple years old now and was when apps were up, but i had a 165/4.0, but didn't apply to any of HYS and only NYU of CCN. Got Rejected by NYU and then waitlisted at the rest of the T-14 except Northwestern. I had some positive feedback from the GULC and Penn waitlists but it was after I had been accepted at NU and I really wanted to be in Chicago. So expect pretty much being waitlisted at all the T-14, maybe grabbing one outright, but working for a spot off the waitlists.
