How much work did you put into the LSAT?

Where do you live and have ties to?
New York is out, DC is out. VA and FL are possible if you have lots of family in one of those two places.
The "best school" for you is the best school in your region, not the best national school.

I took a TM class and threw everything I could into it for this past october test. I was also trying to make sure I got straight As to get that 3.0. I've only got one more retake left (155 on the first), and feel that I was probably around my peak having pt scores in the neighborhood and coming right off of the class, which I will not have the luxury of taking again.
I figured I should go regional heavy and am also applying to Georgia. Could you elaborate on why NY and DC are out? Say I got into Fordham or Wash & Lee. Would those schools not put me in just about as solid of a position as a regional would in their respective areas given a little larger reach.
Thanks for the help guys.

So to answer your question, I could have put more if I wasn't trying to get straight As, but I still put a lot of effort into it with the TestMasters course and all that.

Have ties to the tri-state area. Live in a southern state that I am not willing to practice in.

NY and DC are out because they are over-saturated with 4Ls from amazing schools. Imagine you're the bottom 10% of an NYU course. Where do you go? NY. Even the top half of GULC, the top law school inside DC, has trouble getting DC jobs.
Ties are going to be everything for you. It's all about where firms will be convinced that you will stay with them, where you'll want to stay, and where people in the firm will have gone to the same school.
