Man, I can't believe that if you got into Tufts. You are probably just a poor test taker, but actually extremely intelligent.

Your best bet is to retake the LSAT and work hard to get a better score.

You wouldn't get into a law school with good enough employment prospects to justify the large debt load and ridiculous opportunity costs.

don't listen to these haters. the 149 won't matter when they see tufts on your transcript. the lsat is just about showing a good faith effort and a 149 is almost better than 50% of the population, and america is a super smart country. you'll make an excellent lawyer, and should go right away.

Tufts is going to carry a TON of weight in your apps. Can probably snag a few T14 with that alone.

this made me laugh too much.

I feel a bit bad for OP though, seems like he/she just got here for the first time to make that post and is now getting made fun of, even though it's probably a mistake many people would make if they were just starting out their LS research. A lot of undergrads take the LSAT without doing ANY research. Sad, but true.

Merlinjd, I wish you good luck on your retake.

i was not kidding about tufts. tufts is a shoe in for harvard law. all the harvard law undergrads regret not going to tufts when they're applying to law school. it is a number's game. many of you are right, but tufts is the secret button to make it not about the #'s and about, well, tufts.

I definitely disagree. I think op needs to be looking at they T20-T30 schools for his best chances. Maybe somewhere like Emory and W&L. Do you guys realize how many students at Emory and W&L wish they were able to get into Tufts? Definitely will carry a bit of weight, especially with that solid 3.46 GPA.

A degree from Tufts is worth 16 or 17 extra points on the LSAT.

enough joking. In all seriousness, law schools don't care where you went to undergrad. Tufts might be impressive outside this world, but the better law schools have plenty of ivy league grads to choose from. A 3.46 GPA is incredibly low for top law schools and on the low side for many more. However, a 149 will get you rejected at nearly any school worth attending (there are some exceptions, like if you want to study, work and practice in Wyoming, but not if you want to stay in NY). If you want to go to school in NY, your choices really should be limited to:

Columbia - with your GPA, it's highly unlikely you'll get in. If you retake the LSAT and get a score in the high 170s, there may be a minuscule chance of you getting in, but I wouldn't bet on it

NYU - with your GPA, it's highly unlikely you'll get in. If you retake the LSAT and get a score in the high 170s, there may be a minuscule chance of you getting in, but I wouldn't bet on it

Fordham - with your GPA, you need to retake the LSAT and try to get in the mid 160s just to get in, a 167 or higher should get you some money (scholarship). Whether or not Fordham is worth paying full price is debatable

Cardozo - Your GPA is on the low end. Retake and get at least 158 to stand a chance at getting accepted, but you'll probably need to score 166+ to get any money; Cardozo is not worth attending without a at least a partial scholarship

Brooklyn - your GPA is nicely on target, but your LSAT is too low. Retake and get a 160+ to have a good chance of getting in, 166+ for money; Brooklyn is not worth attending without at least a partial scholarship

St. John's - your GPA is nicely on target, but your LSAT is too low. Retake and get a mid to high 150s and you stand a great chance of getting accepted. A score in the 160s will get you some money. St. Johns is not worth attending without a substantial scholarship and some would say it is not worth attending for free.

Hofstra - your GPA is nicely on target, but your LSAT is too low. Retake and get a high 150s and you stand a great chance of getting accepted. A score in the 160s will get you some money. Hofstra is not worth attending without a substantial scholarship and some would say it is not worth attending for free.

City College - your GPA is fine, but your LSAT is too low. There's a small chance you might get accepted as is, but probably not. Retake and get a mid 150s score to have a chance. CUNY is unlikely to give anyone a scholarship, but their low tuition makes up for that. Only attend CUNY if you want to work in city government or public interest, but your chances of getting those jobs are fairly slim and you'll probably never make much money.

Touro - you'll probably get in here, maybe even with a small scholarship. Retake and get a high 150s score to get decent money. Do not attend unless you get a full ride, and even then it's probably too expensive. Most Touro grads cannot find jobs as lawyers

NYLS - You might get in, as a reverse splitter, but your LSAT is on the low end. Retake and get a high 150s score to get decent money. Do not attend unless you get a full ride, and even then it's probably too expensive. Most NYLS grads cannot find jobs as lawyers

I'd like to tell you not to attend the last few schools under any circumstances - even a full ride, but I'm not going to. You decide if a school where 2 out of every 3 grads can't find a job is worth attending, even if completely free.

If OP Noodleys it I am confident he would get into NYU on down.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
