any chance in T14 for a international student?
Hi everyone, I`m a international, I got LLB and LLM overseas, and got another LLM in US, also admitted in NY already.
GPA 3.35, LSAT 168, 2yr WE (1yr in local firm and 1 yr in Biglaw overseas Office)
Now for some reasons I`m applying for a JD in US, could someone give me some advices please? like what`s my best choice or where can I get some scholarship....thank you very much!

If you blanket the T14, you're bound to find at least 1 school that bites at a 168, but you should eally consider retakingbluemoon wrote:Hi everyone, I`m a international, I got LLB and LLM overseas, and got another LLM in US, also admitted in NY already.

While you have good softs, I can't think of a T14 that will take those scores. The 168 is acceptable for one or two but your gpa is waaaaaaaaaaay below what they're looking for. You need to retake and break 170 to get into the T14. You'd have to get higher than that if you want a chance at any scholarship money

Ok, so if I can get a 170, it would be possible to ace at least a T14 or still vague possibility?mr.hands wrote:While you have good softs, I can't think of a T14 that will take those scores. With a 169 and no GPA but excellent softs, Columbia sat on my application for 5 months and NYU originally waitlisted me

To get into the T14 with your gpa, a 170 is a must. It is necessary
If you get a 170, you'll probably need to ED to get in comfortably (otherwise you risk getting shut out).

Is your GPA from a US or Canadian school? If not, then it won't count in admissions and all that matters is that you get a 170+ on your LSAT.

No...from Asia, I also hope my GPA weigh less in my application, there`s a rumor that international GPA will be valued less important, is it real??Doorkeeper wrote:Is your GPA from a US or Canadian school? I know the international GPA will be considered less important but is that really "no GPA"? I`m happy to hear that but kinda surprised.....

If it is a "no GPA", then you need to hit the median LSAT for the school you're looking at to have a shot.
With no GPA and a 168, you have a shot at Cornell. Out everywhere else.

This is true. You need to be at or above the median LSAT for a law school to take an international student (unless you've done some fucking awesome things to write about).mr.hands wrote:If it is a "no GPA", then you need to hit the median LSAT for the school you're looking at to have a shot.
