Wondering what my chances are given my stats and the schools I'm trying to go to
Me:
3.05 GPA (upward trend however after changing majors and should be around 3.15 around the time I apply)
Double majoring in Economics and Finance
Haven't taken the LSAT but expect a 160-170 (taking it this February)
Schools I plan on applying for:
Notre Dame
UC- Boulder
University of Denver
University of Illinois
Georgetown

You just expect somewhere between 160 and 170? Alright, fine. Even so, that's a big range. 163 got me rejected at Colorado and waitlisted at Denver. My GPA was worse than yours, but at a 3.0 it hardly matters.
Come back when you have a score, but you'd better hope you do well on the LSAT if you want in at Georgetown or ND with a 3.0-3.1.
If you pull a 162 Denver might toss you some money. I don't know. Last cycle they waitlist-admitted me, no money, but gave my buddy a scholarship with a 162. Denver is still expensive as all hell. I'm paying less out of state at Wisconsin than I would've at Denver.

Take the test, then come back.
Actually, take the test. Then take it again. Then come back.

1. Take the test and then come back. A 3.05/160 shouldn't even both going to law school in most cases, but a 3.05/170 will have some options. It is impossible for anyone to give you any meaningful advice when you don't have the most important number in your application packet yet.
2. Whether you can get in is a different question than whether you should go. Sticker at any of those schools would be borderline insane, unless you're an in-state resident. And even then...

gunning for 2012 HoF best meme?
OP take the LSAT it is pointless to try and guess where you could get in with such a large range. Aim for as high as you can. If you get 170+ you have more than a great shot at landing somewhere in the top 14 schools.
