splitter question about Cornell

Question: do you guys think that it would be more beneficial to apply to Cornell now, and pray for a waitlist, or to shoot an app the second i get my Feb retake? My stats are 3.2ish and 167. Obviously, if I get flat out rejected, i can't apply after i retake. I'm not taking in December because finals are way too hectic. Let's please assume that I'm applying this cycle.

That's what I'm thinking. I assume i'll get waitlisted (obviously not flat out accepted), as opposed to rejected, and then ill be able to send in the retake. The thought of being flat out rejected from my dream school is scary though.
Appreciate any others weighing in.
