So, I got 169 from Oct2012. I hope they give consideration about my UG school(which is notorious for being tough on GPA) for my GPA, but I am not counting on that much.

I worked as a head-hunter for a year, and went to science PhD course for a year.(which I quit)

I know HYS is not for me, I really want to get into CCN(especially those in NYC), other T14 will be also satisfactory.

I already applied to some schools, including Cornell EA and Columbia ED, but considering retake LSAT on Dec, since I think I can get 170+, but not high as 175.

Do I have to just apply to rest of them, sit around and wait? Or hold applications and prepare for Dec LSAT?

If I ask them to hold my app, will they do even if my app is currently complete and under review? Will Columbia transfer my app to Regular Decision?

I think for CCN you should probably try to bump up your LSAT, but only if you really feel you can bring it up. If you hold your apps until december/january only to get a 170, that may not help/may hurt you. If you can get up to a 173/4 or higher, I think it can help your chances.

With that said, while I don't know the circumstances behind your UG's grading system, or how schools will look at it, I can't really tell what your overall chances are. Based on the medians and percentiles and all that other junk, you've probably got a decent chance at lower-end T14 schools but if you're shooting for CCN, it may pay to bump up your LSAT.

Retake. Even a 171 in Dec is better than a 169 in Sept. Schools are going to be clawing to keep their medians up. Be the solution, not the problem.
