2.65 // 165 (Wisconsin, Emory, Illinois)

Stats: 2.65, 165
1 year work experience in Chicago, in law-related field, which has helped me develop a unique personal statement. Not a minority, nothing special about me in particular. Terrible GPA because of lazy freshman year.
What are my chances at:
UW- Madison
Emory
Illinois (in-state)
Indiana- Bloomington
Notre Dame
Where else should I apply?

I don't know if you'll be able to get them to bite with your GPA. I would add a few lower tier 1/tier 2 schools in a location you'd like to work in to that list. Then there is always that "retake" option.

According to LSN, UW, Illinois, and Indiana seem splitter-friendly, historically. But still that's pretty anecdotal.

I'm not saying you are bound to get a slew of rejections, I am saying that I would consider having a few backups because a cycle with your numbers could be unpredictable.

Out at UW- Madison, Emory, Illinois, Indiana- Bloomington, and Notre Dame. 2.65 is incredibly low even if it was a bad freshman year. 165 is good, but not great. You would need a 170 or some type of WE to be attractive.

Probably in eventually at UW Madison but they may make you ride the waitlist for a while. There were people in last year's thread that heard quite late. But, overall, they appear to be willing to overlook one number if the other is above median. Only school I'm familiar with.
