168 LSAT, 2.8 GPA

Not a URM. Have a GPA addendum (personal factors basically derailed about 2 years of college for me, very clear change in my academic record). Pretty strong LORs. I hope to end up in the southeast long-term. Open to attending just about wherever for law school. Where should I be targeting? Some ideal spots -- UVa, Vanderbilt, even North Carolina -- seem like big reaches.
Still have one more retake left. Would like to avoid postponing to next year's cycle, but I understand many may advise to do so.
Right now, I have plans to apply to just about every southeastern school from Emory on down, and a few randoms.

Want to bump this up to the top. I posted it pretty late last night and it may get lost in the shuffle, and LSN doesn't exactly make things entirely clear for super-splitters.

I don't necessarily disagree. But I was looking for advice/thoughts given my current numbers.

If you were to apply this cycle, WUSTL and Wake Forest (if you want to work in NC specifically) might be decent options. You'll probably get some cash from both. UVA and Vandy are extremely unlikely, and I don't think UNC dips below 3 very often.

Thanks for the response. Wake is on my list. Also looking pretty seriously at Alabama, Emory and UGA (among a host of other schools -- casting a wide net as a super-splitter).
Do you think I'd have a shot at UVA/Vandy/UNC if I retake in December and get, say, a 172? That's about what my PT average was.

Ironically, UVA is probly the most likely with a 172 and an ED, though far from a sure bet- vandy likes gpas and Unc seems generally unwilling to judge on the 3.0 floor

Vanderbilt is unlikely to dip to a 2.8 GPA without an incredibly high LSAT (175-180). Retake.
