Am I pretty much out at T14 like I expect?

Yeah you're out of the T-14. USC is possible but <50% chance. FWIW as far as the "highest school" question goes it looks like you are a lock at UMN (like 95%+ apparently). But at that level ranking doesn't really mean anything anymore.

Hopefully I can ride the SC WL right on in.....

Any chance at other schools 15-20 besides SC?

No, not a lock at UMN. They use LSAT cutoffs that seem to vary from year to year. It has been at 167 in the past, but no guarantee it will be this year, especially with a 3.49. Sorry, but you are wrong, although OP does have a shot there.

I suppose this year could be different from any other year, but if we hold that premise then this whole practice of predicting chances is worthless because it's just based on precedence.

And precedence says the OP is in at UMN. From 2007 - 2012, 25 people with 3.4-3.5/167 applied to UMN. 23 were accepted, 1 was WLed, and 1 was dinged. That looks like a lock to me.

Fair enough, although UMN is trying hard to stay in top 19 spot... Where are you getting those stats? 167 is median for class of 2013 from what I have seen, and 3.49 is well below their 3.7 median GPA. You may be right, but I think especially with UMN wanting to stay in T20, those stats may be more on the line than your posts suggest.

Fair enough, although UMN is trying hard to stay in top 19 spot... Where are you getting those stats? I always thought of a 167 as right on the line for UMN, unless perhaps in state. And 3.49 is certainly below their median GPA. You may be right, but I think especially with UMN wanting to stay in T20 those stats may be more on the line than your posts suggest.

IIRC UMN games the hell out of their medians. I think their 25-50-75 LSAT spread is currently something like 157-167-167 which is ridiculous lol. That might have something to do with 167+ being autoadmit, but it looks like they like 166 too so idk.

Edit: I just checked and for the c/o 2015 the LSAT spread is 158-167-168. Also their GPA spread is similar at 3.36-3.8-3.89.

Well, I bet OP has a very good shot at UMN, although I'd be surprised if it were really a lock, especially given that I think they will be fighting to maintain position this year. But your points are well taken, and perhaps it is true that unless OP screws up the PS he/she will be admitted there (which is what I would consider to be def of lock).

UMN is def worth attending if OP is interested in staying in MN. Minneapolis is nice city, and actually UMN is my top choice for another grad program I am applying to after law school. Sigh.

I've never even been to Minnesota tbh, it wasn't even on my radar until an hour ago
