I'd say you're a coinflip at Columbia. Out at HYS, another coinflip at UChicago and UPenn and in at NYU. I'd say you should apply this cycle and if you don't like your results get some solid WE with that business background, and reapply next year.

Thank you.
Would others be able to provide more insight?

Coin flip at Columbia and Chicago. You'll probably get into one late in the year and get WL at the other
In at NYU on down.

I'm curious what about the OP made some of you to put him as a coinflip at Columbia?
His GPA is well above median, and LSAT is barely below. The ED + a supposedly less competitive cycle would make me think he has a better shot than 50% (coinflip).
Not to highjack, but would a top UG and better softs change your answers?

I would imagine they were basing their guesses off of LSN + the TLS conventional wisdom that ED'ing Columbia doesn't really provide much of a boost

Echoing florida, she/he's in a spot surrounded by wait lists. ED at Columbia is a bit of a black box, but most (including CLS itself) say that it provides very little boost. The cycle may be a bit less competitive but Columbia reacted to this last year by cutting their class size down ~10%, so any decrease in applicants was negated by this.

If I average 172 or 173 or 174+, I'd have a 60%+ chance of getting in?
If you retake and get a 173 (at median) your chances will be pretty good
If you get a 174+ (and thus above both medians) I would imagine you're pretty close to a lock
