I just got my score today and I am hesitant to post because of the massive amounts of sarcasm I have seen so far just in reading these forums, but I would like to get some input on my situation.

I have already looked at law school numbers and have seen the ranges for the schools I am considering, as well as the information they've posted on their websites.

I have also seen a lot of negative remarks on here in regard to law schools that are not highly ranked in terms of quality and cost. I am not interested in these types of comments. I already have law school paid for and am just looking for a place to go.

My info- 3.3 GPA, 155 LSAT, letter of rec from a federal government official I worked for who was appointed by the president, also a D1 student athlete

I want to apply ED to Richmond, the GPA range of admitted students listed on their website was 2.01-4.07 with the LSAT being 145-175.

I am also planning on applying to Louisville and Liberty but Richmond is my number one choice.

I would appreciate any information from people who have applied to these places or who know about the application process.

Don't look at range, look at medians. You are far below both medians for Richmond and will get dinged.

If you're just looking for a place to go, yeah, check the medians at Law School Transparency (or the thread here where updates are being posted). Do you have a job lined up already? If not, you may want to consider where you think you'd like to work after LS.

I see now that I am below the median for Richmond. But will applying ED not help me out a little there?

No. ED locks up seats. There is no incentive for a school to lock up a seat with an applicant below both medians.

If my parents attended one of the schools and I have family members currently attending one of the schools, would this help me out at all?

URich is a scam factory. I read a thread on here earlier about how the Dean wouldn't give the student a hug after the Dean recruited her. How unconscionable!

Sorry, I was being snarky. I don't know much about Richmond, but I think your stats could land you in a TTT or TTTT law school (I'm assuming Richmond is such), which is "not good" in my opinion, especially if you go without scholarship, which you probably will be with those stats.

I would advise retaking. With low 160s LSAT you at least could save some money at a TTT level school.

The only conditions I would go to law school with your current score are: 1) you have a guaranteed job lined up from family member who owns and runs a law firm; 2) you are literally working at McDonald's and have absolutely no hope of getting a decent job other than going back to school (even then, go to a computer science program instead of law is my suggestion).

Thanks for the input I probably will end up retaking.

However I spoke to someone from admissions at a TTT school near where I live and they said I could potentially receive a scholarship with my current numbers. I might look into that. But I'd say a retake is still in my future.

I am a current 1L at richmond and I would not automatically assume you are out. Applying ED will not hurt you in any way if you really want to go here. From personal experience I can tell you that visits and calls to the law school really affect how richmond decides who gets in and who doesnt. Even if you don't get in for ED you don't get dinged you just get moved into the regular applicant pool. If you really want to go here it is worth the time to apply ED and call or visit.

I was W/L at Richmond with the same GPA and seven more points.

waitlist is not a death sentence. I was w/l and later got in. my lsat was below median but I had a high gpa. and I love Richmond!
