GPA 3.76, LSAT 170, applying late dec-early Jan.

Hi guys, I just took the Oct. LSAT and don't think I hit 170+, and will definitely be taking it again in Dec. So that puts my application time around late December and early January. So my question is, assuming I get a 170, how are my chances for the T14 (I'd say my dream is Chicago)? My GPA is from a top 5 school, so maybe that'll help me out a little? I'm mostly concerned with applying so late in the cycle. The initial plan was to have everything out by early Nov, but let's just say that plan got severely messed up. Thanks for your help!

A 170 should get you NYU, but not Chicago. You'd need to break a 172-173 to put Chicago and Columbia into contention.

The late application will hurt you, but there's only one way to find out about how much. Worse case scenario, you retake and apply next year.

I don't get these posts. What is anyone going to tell you that can't learn on http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com, particularly for a hypothetical score?
