I want to practice corporate law. I have a Finance undergrad and was thinking of taking on the MBA/JD dual degree program, but I don't know if I want to take on so much.

LOL ^^ I live in reality....I think realistically. I don't assume HYS= huge salary or guaranteed job. Thats a flawed perception.
This forum is just a bunch of opinions anyway, nothing factual. I think its immature to be hateful to someone on a forum who is just asking a question like everyone else, and obviously anything anyone says on here isn't set in stone. If you seriously can't be respectful back, then leave this post because you're wasting your time, and frankly, so am I on your nonsense.

If you want to practice corporate law, Stanford is definitely worth it. Only about 1/3 of UT grads are capable of getting biglaw, while at stanford well over 3/4 are competitive. Basically, unless you're near the bottom of your class, the job's there for the taking.

don't get me wrong, I'm one of the first to understand taking a lower ranked school over a higher one, and to advocate factoring in cost. It's just that HYS are so far above the rest in terms of employment opportunity, it'd be foolish not to go, if you can

As usual, I have to agree with DB here.

If this forum is a bunch of opinions and nothing factual then why are you soliciting our responses?

To be honest, you do ask some pretty asinine questions.

I don't recall ever asking an asinine question in this thread. Or frankly, being asinine in general. Look at my prior posts. I answered her question multiple times.

I'm not really seeing how the OP would actually have a shot at HS? A 3.6 LSAC GPA even with that LSAT...

Unless she is URM?

At least based on LSN...

EDIT: OP, the "cumulative" GPA you mention, is that your calculated LSAC GPA?

I'm Asian but that isn't considered URM huh?
And yes that is my lsac calculated GPA.

ok, totally misread that. Throw a hail mary to HYS, Apply to CCN and maybe 2 or 3 other T14 schools in addition to UT.
You should get UT regardless, but getting acceptances from better schools gives you negotiating power

There's a lot of variation in employment, even among the top schools. Yes, there's always a chance of striking out, even at Yale, but the chances are quite mitigated even between UVA and the schools your numbers are likely to bag.
