3.99 USC / 156 EXTREME reverse splitter

Hey folks, a friend of mine is retaking the LSAT this October but has a 156 and a 3.99 from USC (English is his second language, so a lot of difficulty in some RC and LR questions).

Is a Fordham type of school completely out of reach? He's consistently in the low 160s in practice tests now, so hopefully will end up with a final LSAT closer to 161-162.

I've never seen such an extreme reverse splitter, so I'm not really sure what to suggest to him in terms of probable schools. There don't seem to be as many data points for this. Thanks! :)

Your friend has an outside shot at many schools from 19-30. Their chances go up with every point.

a 161ish/3.99 screams UMN. They dont mind dipping low for a great GPA.

160-165 --> ED UVA first

Ok great, thanks for the thoughts. If the ED deadline is before he gets his LSAT back, is it worth applying anyway?

UVA's ED stands for expedited decision, not early decision. The deadline for it is the same as UVA's RD (3/1 iirc).

Hell No! :mrgreen:
It is still considered to be Early Decision as it is "binding" regadless of their long deadline. Please don't confuse someone who wants to ED at UVA including me :-)

Where did I say it wasn't binding? All I said was it doesn't stand for early decision; ergo, it is still binding but doesn't have an earlier deadline. The link you provided even calls it "Binding Expedited Decision."
