Splitting 3.38/169... Upward trend, weaker softs

So on paper: 169/3.38
One LSAT attempt, worked full time through almost all of school, no other softs really besides a part time internship I just started.
I have an upward trend in grades. Freshman year was a 1.93, took a semester off, then came back and since have averaged a 3.85.
Probably won't have any amazing letters or an outstanding personal statement.

My dream reach is Virginia, so I'm willing to ED.
Otherwise, I'm looking at schools hopefully as highly ranked as possible...
Northwestern
Cornell
Vandy
Minnesota
Southern California
Georgetown
and so on...

Chances or suggestions at hopefully top20 schools?
Thanks

Conventional wisdom says you need to be at UVA's 75th percentile for LSAT to ED as a splitter. Are you retaking in oct?

Schools don't give a shit about upward trends.

ED UVA if you want, you aren't getting in but let them tell you that not me.

After the inevitable WL, ED Michigan where you are at least at their median. It's your best bet of being T13secure

I might retake it then... All I did to study the first time was take a week off partying and take 5 timed practice tests, was getting around 169-173, so with some real effort how much might I possibly raise that? What would I need for a legitimate chance at maybe not virginia, but northwestern or something?

Or if I don't should I be looking lower down the list at schools like William and Mary, ASU, Emory...?

Score 171 or above and with an ED to UVA you're pretty much a lock for it. A good chance even with a 170.

For Northwestern you're gonna need postgraduate work experience and 170+.

If you don't score above 169 then apply to WUSTL and UMinn. They give a lot of money to splitters. That's ONLY IF you're ok with working there after graduation though.

For NU LSP says 45% with a 3.38 170. While that isn't a lock it is still a shot. I would say the OPs chances are 1/3 if they do not do the interview. It is almost guaranteed that you need a 170+ however so a retake is necessary.
