What are my chances? (Splitter)

UGPA: 3.49 with a double-major in a hard science and a social science from a top 10 undergrad school. There is a distinct upward trend in my grades (first year had around a 3.3 average, fourth year had around a 3.8).

LSAT: 174

I've been working at a law firm for 1.5 years and will likely have solid recommendations from attorneys.

I'm wondering what you think my chances could be at Chicago, Northwestern, Emory, and Georgetown.

Check out lawschoolnumbers.com. Your GPA is not too low (and the science helps) and your LSAT is great so you can definitely get into Georgetown and I would expect you to get into NU as well. I'd give you a good shot at Chicago.

Just curious, why not Emory? They seem to have very solid litigation coursework, and I might be able to get a good scholarship

The coursework is irrelevant!

Over 30% of the class did not get FT legal work period. If you get a full ride it might be worth it. But a T14 is a better option for you.

what does this mean? it means nothing and should constitute roughly .078% of your decision.

They don't have better "coursework" than NU or GULC (whatever that means), and the employment prospects are worse.

Unless you get a substantial scholarship and no money at the other two places, you'd be crazy to go there over a t14 school.

Don't expect to get that full scholly, although it's enough of a possibility that you should ED there if you aren't going to ED anywhere else.

Also no reason to go to Emory.

To the extent your target schools will care about LORs at all, no one will care about your recommendations from attorneys. Submit one if you want, but your best academic LORs will carry much more weight.

Also, don't go to Emory.

I'd put ED to NYU on the list, too. Is it possible to ED NU, get (likely) dropped, ED to NYU?
