The LSN graph lists me at about 90% for Harvard, but LSAC puts me at 50-60%. Anyone know why the discrepancy and which is more accurate?

LSAC has access to more data, I'd predict.giuseppes12 wrote:The LSN graph lists me at about 90% for Harvard, but LSAC puts me at 50-60%. Anyone know why the discrepancy and which is more accurate?
I feel like more data wouldn't move it from 90% to 50%, though. Unless the LSN data is unrepresentative somehow... dissonance why do you think the LSAC predictor is inaccurate?alwayssunnyinfl wrote:LSAC has access to more data, I'd predict.giuseppes12 wrote:The LSN graph lists me at about 90% for Harvard, but LSAC puts me at 50-60%. Doesn't the LSAC predictor make it's predictions based on score bands? Since the median is encompassed within the score band, maybe that's why. Regardless, like Miller said, who cares? LSN is a record of actual people. And why do you need exact percentages? Your chances are very high, so apply and hope for the best.giuseppes12 wrote:I feel like more data wouldn't move it from 90% to 50%, though. Well hopefully people actually have a solid reason for thinking the LSAC predictor is off, not just hearsay lol. And 50% vs. 90% makes a difference for how I structure the application; e.g. my app to Yale is gonna be substantially different than my app to NYUSamara wrote:Doesn't the LSAC predictor make it's predictions based on score bands? What?giuseppes12 wrote: And 50% vs. 90% makes a difference for how I structure the application
if it's 50% he can write a personal statement about succeeding against unlikely oddsBumi wrote:What?giuseppes12 wrote: And 50% vs. 90% makes a difference for how I structure the application
