I've looked through LSN, not really a lot of people with my numbers. Wondering what you all think about my UVA ED chances if I submit in early September. My GPA is only a tad over the OLD median.

You are either a troll or misinformed. Op is practically a lock UVA Ed. But id blanket the lower t14 because you'll get money at multiple places.bigvinny wrote:You are out at UVA.
Enjoy Georgetown or Cornell!

Change ED to only and then it's a better picture. It is a small sample size though. OP is above one of their medians and above their other 25th. That usually equals acceptance in UVA math. I still wouldn't ED though.bigvinny wrote:Thistop30man wrote:You are either a troll or misinformed. Op is practically a lock UVA Ed. The line for UVA is 3.85, anything below that might as well be a 3.0 and anything above that might as well be a 4.1. Given that OP is above it, his chances are immensely better. Your search treats a 3.81 and a 3.88 as equal and for UVA they are anything but.bigvinny wrote:Thistop30man wrote:You are either a troll or misinformed. Op is practically a lock UVA Ed. UVA total COA for the class of 2016: $264,085BSC wrote:For those of you saying that's not my best option, why do you say so?
You have a pretty good shot at Chicago and NYUBSC wrote:Also, I figure UVA with ED is the best school I could get into, am I wrong about that?
Because with those reverse splitter stats, you're not getting much money at UVA. With even one more point on the LSAT, you're looking at $$.BSC wrote:Thanks for all the responses. For those of you saying that's not my best option, why do you say so? I guess I could give more information about circumstances to consider. I'm from the south, want to stay in the south, and will not have to take out loans to pay for school.
Also, I figure UVA with ED is the best school I could get into, am I wrong about that?
Edit: Also, I visited Vandy, and was not impressed at all. Really don't want to go there
Yeah I'd think of Eding NYU or Chi if anything.Nova wrote:UVA total COA for the class of 2016: $264,085BSC wrote:For those of you saying that's not my best option, why do you say so?
Why volunteer to sign up for that when you will very likely get into most of MDNGC with money?! You also have a decent shot at UVA without the ED.You have a pretty good shot at Chicago and NYUBSC wrote:Also, I figure UVA with ED is the best school I could get into, am I wrong about that?

i agree that a retake is worth it b/c u could be looking at H with a few more points, or CCN with money. maybe back up plan could be UVA ED - although I would think you have a really good shot at RD there. maybe you could apply there RD and once you hear back from like a Duke (and youll prob get some $ there), you will feel better about not EDing. If shit hits the fan, switch your app from RD to ED and your goldenBSC wrote:Thanks for all the responses. I'm just scared of getting shut out of everything but Cornell/Georgetown if I don't ED. I'm considering retaking in October as well. It makes sense, except it's just all the sleepless nights between now and November keeping me from it.
If I told you I would pay you $10,000 to retake the LSAT and do better, and if you didn't do better there would be no adverse consequences whatsoever, would you? Of course you would.BSC wrote:Thanks for all the responses. I'm just scared of getting shut out of everything but Cornell/Georgetown if I don't ED. I'm considering retaking in October as well.
