Sorry if this isn't considered a splitter, but I graduated in the spring with a 3.43 overall gpa (really huge upward trend from (2.7-3.8)) /170 lsat/mediocre softs/good LORS. What are my chances of getting into U of Washington? Do I have any chance of getting into a t14?

Thank you

UW seems to favor GPAs. Despite that, if you are from the area, youll probably get in.

I think you have a decent shot at MVPD & an even better shot at NGC. Im sure youll get a few T14 acceptances.

thanks for the input, I really appreciate it. Do schools take into account upward trend in gpa at all?

@GPA trend: Not really.

Also, I'm guessing you'll probably have already made up your mind about UWash, but unless you have a really good personal reason for staying in Washington, I'd very seriously consider EDing to UVA, or better yet, increasing your LSAT a few points and EDing to NYU.

I also think you have a decent chance if you EDed to Penn.

It's good, although if you want NY I would go to Penn instead.

That's probably true, but U of Washington, Washington U, and Washington & Lee are all viable options.

Not necessarily. Here is how non-URM applicants with your numbers have fared over the last four cycles: http://myLSN.info/dispresults.php?sk=nt7zg. Application numbers are expected to decline significantly again this year, and a number of T14 schools will be even more desperate to maintain their LSAT medians. At least one of them should overlook your GPA.

Search for Samara's terrific guide for splitters and follow her advice. Apply early.

No it's not. You have seven posts and each of them contains advice that is foolish, terrible, or downright wrong.

Make that eight.

Not necessarily.
My thoughts exactly.

3.3/170 and 3.4/170 aren't too different. Both will affect T14 medians the same way.

Since only 20% of employed UVA '11 grads stayed in VA , I assume UVA places very well outside VA. UVA would open up your home market, DC, and NY for sure.
