Well it's over, now chances please??

Post by harttrek1 » Thu Jul 05, 2012 2:59 pm

Numbers:
LSDAS- 4.0
June 2012 LSAT- 170 (first take)

Softs:
graduate this December with two degrees: Banking and Finance & Spanish from an SEC school (T1st in class)
student investment manager for large private company
recruiter for university
fraternity officer

study abroad
congressional internship

re-taking is a possibility, but PLEASE offer opinions other than retake. I studied extensively and feel this is close to my potential on the test, and it would be great to not have to go through it again.

HYS-any chance of an admission to one of the three?
Chicago/NYU chances?
UVA
Georgetown

Thanks guys

According to this you have a shot at the majority of the T-14. Also check LSN.

Almost my numbers twin but you probably have a little better softs.

Imma say strong chance at T6 and an outside shot at HYS.

Thanks for all the helpful responses!

My pt average was 172, so I wasn't disappointed in my June score. That's why I am on the fence about the risk/reward of a retake. Is the benefit of applying first thing in the cycle larger than the risk of a same or lower retake and subsequent later application?

These resources, especially mylsn, are tremendous. Thanks a ton.

retake, you have everything to gain.

Obviously right now you will get into a lot of the T14's and prob money at a lot of them...but you need a few more points for a decent shot at HYS (maybe youll get stanford but its still a reach)...i would suggest you retake

Probably get into most of the lower T-14s plus one or more of CCN.

Did you regularly get 172+? If so, go ahead and retake. But you have the best sense of what you think you can do. You said you think you came close to maxing out your potential. I didn't retake a 170, but my PT average was 171 and all my scores were clustered around there--out of like 20 tests I got one 176, one 172, and one 167. Everything else was in the middle. I thought my chances of doing significantly better were extremely low.

You're a lock for the T-14 with $$ now, if you can write a halfway coherent PS. I'm gonna go ahead and say you're in at NYU too, if you turn in your app early. I had the same LSAT and a lower GPA; you can check out my profile.
