Top 14? Top 5?

GPA: ~3.95
LSAT: 166 (highest one, plan to retake in October)
I lurked for a while and now that I got the scores, I thought I'd post and get some feedback. I was looking at Stanford's numbers. 25th % is 167 and 75% is 3.93, meaning that my LSAT is within the bottom 25% (close to 25%) and my GPA is in the top quarter. Would that even me out to a 50/50? What about some other schools, and what LSAT in October (be realistic: 170? 171?) would give me a decent shot in all T5?
Thanks for any input.

Auto out at T6, duke, Penn, and NU (barring WE). Shot at UVA, in w ED.
LSAT matters a ton more than GPA, that's why it doesn't even out to 50/50. There are a billion applicants w super high GPAs, few w a 170+

Check out lawschoolpredictor.com and lawschoolnumbers.com.
The thing with Stanford is they care about more than just numbers, so based on your numbers you're neither a lock nor shutout.
You read my mind. I was lurking on those sites, too, but thought that maybe someone here, perhaps someone who went through the cycle, could provide more insight than just numbers and their corresponding accepted/rejected/waitlisted. I think I can definitely improve my LSAT to 168 at least to 171. I actually underperformed both times but plan on buying the last two books of PTs (I exhausted all the material) and then redoing all those tests again till October and going in calm-headed. But, when I look at those sites, it only provides the surface of the story.
EDIT: suppose I get a 170 (but nothing more), what would you think my chances are going to be for those schools (and keep in mind I have 2 lower LSATs already)?

An above median LSAT score is the answer for Harvard, Columbia & Chicago. Yale & Stanford are far less predictable.

I disagree. I know at least a few EDs at Penn with a 166/3.9x. But OP, if I were you I would retake and try for a 170+.

Could you explain the auto out at T6. I thought that too but then someone has to be in the bottom 25% right? And my LSAT is in the bottom 25%, almost at the line. Why couldn't I be one of the ones with the 25% LSAT?

I definitely will. I received a 161 the first time because I was too nervous. Scored in the similar range on PTS, maybe a tiny but higher, but got a 166 this time. If I continue studying and score within my PT range, I think I can reach the 170+ range. On the last real test, I had ~5 to 7 extra minutes on all section except games, in which I missed most. If I can stay calm during games and get those down, and cut at least one miss in other 3 sections, I'd get 171+. But those are ifs.

They're just usually reserved for URMs or traditional splitters (not reverse splitters as often). I think w an ED you could have a shot, but if you apply RD you're almost certainly going to be waitlisted. (that's what I mean by out, you def won't get straight dinged.)
Oh, and you're in at Cornell. Maybe w a little money too, If apps remain down.
EDIT: a 170+ changes absolutely everything

Oh ok. I got ya! I'm just worried I might get into the T14, which are fantastic schools, but I'll have to pay sticker price or close to it and I really don't want to do that. I'd rather go T20 with money. That's why I'm shooting for all-or-nothing, last chance, better lsat score this october.
EDIT: Suppose I get a 170 flat, what would my chances be then (keep in mind I have two lower lsats already)?

What type of URM are you?
If you aren't one, readjust your expectations.

Not really a URM. But, I plan on retaking in October. Maybe a higher LSAT score could help me keep the expecations.

If you are just a normal joe you would probably want at least a 172 to feel good about the T3.

Ahh.. I'll probably get a 170 flat, maybe (MAYBE) 171, if I can calm down and go through it like a PT. But it won't matter though because my other too are going to lower the overall score.
