Figured there will be a shit ton of these today, but here goes. 3.1, 169, 2 years WE. Any shot at UVA ED or does less than 170 mean auto deny?

Not auto-ding, but definitely a long long shot, especially if you aren't from VA.emarxnj wrote:Figured there will be a shit ton of these today, but here goes. 3.1, 169, 2 years WE. Any shot at UVA ED or does less than 170 mean auto deny?
The 169 definitely hurts him... If that was turned into a 173 or 174 he'd have a great shot.bobbyh1919 wrote:It won't be the 169 that hurts you OP (I'm attending with the same score and got a nice scholarship). The GPA makes you a long shot.

Yeah I was under the impression breaking 171 or so would give me a strong chance with ED. Really stuck on retaking, -3 total between LR/RC and -7 in LG. Not sure if I could repeat that performance on LR/RC, but I know I can do much better on games.Greenandgold wrote:The 169 definitely hurts him... I would say you're virtually a foot in, but if you want biglaw I would seriously advise against going to WUSTTTL.emarxnj wrote:About what I figured. Thanks guys. Good to know. Now I gotta decide if I want to give up on working in NYC.top30man wrote:In with $$$. >168 in, usually with money.emarxnj wrote:About what I figured. Thanks guys. Yeah, I do want biglaw (i'm a special snowflake). Guess I gotta make some decisions. I'm also considering just grabbing what I assume will be a nearly full ride at Rutgers, and work my connections in NJ (life time resident) but NYC biglaw is what I want most.dpk711 wrote:I would say you're virtually a foot in, but if you want biglaw I would seriously advise against going to WUSTTTL.emarxnj wrote:About what I figured. Not sure if that's a given with the GPA. I am 3.95/169 and got a near full ride offer from Newark (where I'm assuming you're most interested in) and about a half scholly from Camden.emarxnj wrote:Yeah, I do want biglaw (i'm a special snowflake). Unless OP has a criminal record or applies really late, he is almost certainly in at WUSTL.bobbyh1919 wrote:Not sure if that's a given with the GPA. If you want big law you should certainly retake for a t14. UVA, GULC, Northwestern are certainly in play with a 170 or higher.emarxnj wrote:Yeah, I do want biglaw (i'm a special snowflake).
