Why do you want to be a lawyer?
Edit: as opposed to being an engineer. Also, what is it you want to do with a law degree?

+1 this is very important. Depending on your answer, I might suggest you wait a year and retake the LSATs.
If you want to focus more on your undergrad degree, you could still do extremely well by going to a good IP school and doing very well there, even if it is not highly ranked overall.

Intellectual property is definitely the way I want to go. Eventually end up in the patent field. I love engineering, but I also have always wanted to be a lawyer. IP law seems the best route for me.

I really think the optimal scenario for you, if you're an undergrad, is to work as an engineer for a few years first. Any kind of WE is good for your legal job search, and it's probably doubly good for you since you're looking to work as a lawyer in that field. I don't know much about IP but there's other people doing IP-related stuff on TLS, and they seem to agree that science background-->IP gives you a boost, but your school still counts for a lot.
You have an excellent GPA and an LSAT that's knocking on the door of the upper-tier schools (the ones where just the school name will be an added plus to the resume). How much IP work happens in small markets like Ohio? (I'm curious b/c most IP people on TLS seem to be headed for the bigger markets)

I am an undergrad. I will have a full year of internships in the refining industry when I graduate. I also have undergraduate research experience & I will have written an honors undergraduate thesis on biofuel production. I am considering retaking in October. I'm currently doing some research on the IP market in the ohio, indiana, kentucky area. I don't think it's too bad, we have some bigger companies in the area.
