Retake is pretty much your answer.

I can just speak to Indiana - you will almost definitely get waitlisted unless next cycle is different from the last few.

We have really similar numbers and, speaking from my own experience this cycle, I got into Northeastern (with money) and Connecticut. I can't really say for the other schools.

You have a wide spread of schools and you'd probably be in with many. But you do need to narrow it down and I can't see a pragmatic pattern with the schools you've selected. I've always thought the use of 2-3 reach schools, 3-4 target schools, and 2-3 safety schools is a good way to structure it.

And remember, make sure to pick your school based on the U.S. News ranking of their specific program (like environmental law) you like. I'm kidding. Seriously, don't do that.

I'm a fellow New Englander and have very similar stats to you (164/3.53). I got 20,000 per year to Northeastern, and 20,000 per year to PSU. I'm waiting on hearing from BC/BU but, honestly, don't get your hopes up. My GPA is higher than yours and even I'm a major long shot. I F'in hated when I kept hearing the TLS mantra of retake and reapply, but it really is the thing to do if you are able to. I'm retaking in June and plan on EDing UVA or Penn (I was able to bring my scores up to around 170). Study your ass off and worse case scenario you go to a school you would've gone to anyways, but with a bit more money.

Huge list. Trying to narrow down for next fall's cycle.

How should I be? Would I get any financial aid from these schools.

I plan on retaking the LSAT, perhaps I'll do better. But let's work with the stats I have today.
You will not get into BC/WUSTL and perhaps ASU/Indiana. For BC/WUSTL, I would say you need to raise your LSAT to at least 167. And even then you will probably get WLd. You have a shot at the rest.

Law School Predictor. It seems like you are a consider, weak consider, and maybe strong consider at some of those - this might be a good way to pick your targets. Also, the conventional wisdom is to go to school where you want to practice (at least the same region)

Other than BC and WUSTL, none of those schools are worth going to. And BC and WUSTL are not worth going to at sticker, which is what you'll have to pay if you even get in. Retake.

Does your response imply, little to no chance?

And I do plan to study for it again. But It's been a long while since i took it.

The no guarantee of doing better on a retake shouldn't be a deterrent to retaking it. It's a learnable test. There are very, very few times in life where, in order to be offered more money and better scholastic opportunities, all you have to do is absolutely murder a test that is almost identical every administration. There are tons of study plans on here, pick one that you think works for you, and do the math. $$$$$$ in extra earning potential and less debt / hours spent studying for a test while you're young = much more than any of us will ever make per hour.

Also, what really isn't guaranteed is that any of these schools would lead you to a job that would cover your loans at sticker. Except maybe some of the state schools if you're instate. Even then, retake, please!

I had the same numbers as you, and of the schools I applied to on your list, I got into; ASU, UofA, Wake Forest, UConn, PSU, and waitlisted at Wisconsin

This alone, depending on the curve of your administration, could have given you an extra 2-3 points. (At least, according to the Oct 2011 administration, the highest raw school for a 164 was 80, and three extra correct answers would have given you a 166.) A 164 is 90th percentile, not a bad place to start, and the difference between each school is usually only 1-2 questions. Attack it slowly, trying to increase one point at a time. Devote enough time to it, and you'll score higher and come back to look at this thread and laugh.

pithypike is always a classic and good if you want an all-inclusive, intense approach, although a lot of material to wade through and you probably don't need to start from square one. You already got a 164, so unless you need a tutor to really help motivate you, you're probably better off isolating which types of questions trip you up and really focusing on that. Everyone has separate strengths and weaknesses. For me, RC was just a matter of catching little tricks that use and keeping my focus up, so it gave me a lot of time and energy to devote to LR, which was my weakest section at first. If it's been a little while since you've done a full, timed practice test, buy a book of real tests that you haven't taken yet, and do a fresh diagnostic. Then, see where you have the most room to gobble up extra points. Like I said, for me, LR was by far my worst section by the time I took the exam in Oct because I had spent a lot of energy on Logic Games. I missed something like 2 questions in RC, 3 in LG, and 6 or 7 or something like that in each LR sections. If you're pretty evenly distributed, then it's going to be a bit harder to find a focus at first.

Everyone has different theories on how many pt's to take, in what order. Should you start with older tests and chronologically move to newer ones so you can save the newest, most applicable ones for last, or mix them up so you're not missing out on some subtle changes in the test that happen over the course of the decade or so of tests that are available? Read through the threads on LSAT and decide which strategy works for you.

I bought the LR bible, LG bible, and all the Real Actual LSAT Tests, and about halfway through my prep, I found out that my older half sister's younger half sister used to teach for PowerScore and had a lot of great resources for me. At least from my experience with materials from Kaplan and PowerScore, PowerScore books can seem daunting at first, but I really like the way they teach the exam. I feel like they're trying to create a system that can get you to a 180, whereas Kaplan feels like they're trying to make the test "comfortable" for you and land you in the mid-160's. But again, everyone has different opinions.

tl; dr If you want to spend your money on more than books, I'd recommend PowerScore because I liked the results I got. I never actually took a class, the books that come with the course were enough to set me up for success.

WFU, FSU, Pitt & UConn (among many others on your list) should admit you. Check lawschoolnumbers.com graphs.

The better question is: Where do you want to live & work after law school ?

If you are in-state (which looking at your list I'm guessing not) you'd be looking between half tuition to full-ride, so definitely less than 10k a year.

Where did you get this crazy list from? Where are you from?
