Is USC/UCLA possible?

Hey everyone,

I'm putting together a list of schools I anticipate applying to next cycle and I'm wondering if some of you could offer me advice on what LSAT score I need for them. I looked at lawschoolnumbers, but there's very little data for URMs with my GPA. I'll be applying before November (early September if I don't need a retake). My LSAT cold diagnostic was 148, but I've already made dramatic improvements (I missed 14 LG on the diagnostic and I'm now missing zero or one in timed sections). I'm taking the LSAT in June and would like to gauge where I should realistically be aiming for the schools I wish to apply to - obviously I should be trying to score as high as possible, but not everyone will score a 180.

Female URM (African American and Native American but no tribal registry)
Top 50 UG
LSDAS GPA ~ 3.15-3.20
Strong upward trend ~ 3.85 over last 5 quarters (will be writing an addendum)
Average softs: D1 scholarship athlete for 2 years; two research projects that are law related; some work experience

Schools I want to apply to: Michigan (reach), UCLA (reach), USC (reach), Davis, Irvine, LMU, Pepperdine

I'm a Southern California native so I'd like to stay here, with USC/UCLA being my dream schools. I'd be open to some Midwest schools because I have family ties in Michigan. Thank you for any advice or suggestions!

Seems like you'd have a great shot if you can get to the mid to high 160s.

Impossible to tell until you have a real LSAT. But no matter your LSAT, it'll probably be easier for you to get one of MVP than it would for you to get either of USC/UCLA.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I understand it's quite difficult to predict without a LSAT score (I'll report back after I take it in June). But, assuming I get a 167+, would ED to UCLA or Michigan help my chances in any way? I would love to go to either one, but was told URMs should avoid ED because of the unpredictability of their cycles and the potential to miss out on better opportunities (higher ranked schools and scholarships).
