University of Chicago Law -- Chances?
Hi there,
Long time reader, first time poster. I was wondering if some of you would comment on my chances at the University of Chicago Law School for the class of 2015. I applied in December, and my application went under review on January 11.
I got a 169 on my October 2011 LSAT. I have a 3.63 GPA at a top 10 liberal arts institution, and I am a neuroscience major. I also interned at a USAO last summer before senior year. Thank you in advance....I look forward to hearing your opinions!

Based on last year's cycle: http://chicago.lawschoolnumbers.com/stats/1011/
I don't think your chances are too good without URM status.

Well I got WL'ed with a 170/4.08 so I say your chances are slim and you should really be happy with any T14 acceptances.

You're borderline for even the lower T14. Chicago is almost a zero percent chance, as you're below both medians.

Agree with the above. You might have a chance if you ED'ed, but it's slim.

I enjoy the quote from Gran Torino in your TLS Box.Tom Joad wrote:Well I got WL'ed with a 170/4.08 so I say your chances are slim and you should really be happy with any T14 acceptances.

This. You'll have a decent chance at Gtown, Cornell, UVa, and a shot at Mich maybe... but other than that the T14 isn't very realistic. RT and get a 173+ for a good shot at UChi.Tom Joad wrote:Well I got WL'ed with a 170/4.08 so I say your chances are slim and you should really be happy with any T14 acceptances.

Same LSAT. Higher gpa. In at gulc. Dinged at upenn and wl at UVA. I didn't go for the t6 because my chances are essentially zero.eaper wrote:This. Re: University of Chicago Law -- Chances?
OP is not getting UVA with both numbers below median. Looking at this years cycle, OP might get GULC, but it's a toss-up because the school really favors the LSAT. OP's best chances are Cornell and Mich (even better with an ED app to Mich).eaper wrote:This. How AA/NA/Mexican/Puerto Rican are you?
The answer to that is directly proportional to your chances.

If you want UC, given the 3.63 GPA, you need at least a 172+ for a shot RD, probably in ED (if LSN this past cycle is accurate).

What everyone is not saying but is a major premise here is that the difficulty of OP's major and his internship (i.e. his softs) don't count for diddly. Law school admissions suck sorry OP.
