Transfer from American to GW

So I got rejected from GW and accepted at American. I was wondering what class rank I would have to be at in my first year at American to be able to transfer to GW. Would by undergrad GPA and LSAT still matter?
Any advice would be helpful. I hope to practice in the D.C. area in the future.

Probably top 15%. But it probably wouldn't be worth it to transfer to GW if you're in that position.

Do not go to law school planning to transfer.

So I've heard. I wouldn't mind graduating from American. I would just prefer GW because it's got a better rank and repuation so I'm wondering what it would take.

Probably what the others said: top 10-15% to get a shot.
That being said, from a current GW student: if you're top 10-15% at American, you'd be nuts to transfer. Your job prospects would be BETTER from AU if you're top 10-15% than if you transferred to GW, lost all your grades, and risked finishing at median. GW is really not THAT much better at American and if you're in position to transfer FROM American to GW, you probably have just as good job prospects as you would at GW.
Additionally, GW is over-ranked and the reputation isn't as great compared to American as the rankings may have you believe. If you really want to start off on a better foot, re-take and re-apply and shoot for GULC or UVA. If not, stick with AU, do well, and you'll be fine. No need to transfer from AU to GW because there's a higher chance you actually JEOPARDIZE your job prospects by transferring, rather than improve them. Like an 80-90 percent chance.

Yeah, my TI-83+ says the same thing.

This is exactly why transferring to GW wouldn't be worth it.

You would probably NEED to be in the top 25% at American to transfer to GWU; but why would you want to transfer to GWU ?
If you are in the top 10-15% at American, then only consider a T-17 law school.
