Not the answer you want, but retake the LSAT and score 7-8 points higher and you'll be in at a lot of T14's.

Well I have already applied at the end of december with the scores and LSAT I have. Heres how its going so far. Thoughts?

In: Emory, American U, Baylor
Dinged: GW
Applied: NYU, Duke, Penn, Fordham, Cardozo, WUSTL, UC Davis, UCLA, USC, Brooklyn, NYLS, Georgetown

I know some of these are absurd reaches, but I figured it could not hurt to apply to a ton of reaches hoping I luck out on one.

I'm in a similar boat. I'm a 161 LSAT/3.84 GPA strong softs. I know everyone's advice is usually to retake, but that's just not happening for me. I want to go to law school in the fall. I applied in early January ... to some regional schools and some of the same ones you did. Here's what my cycle looks like so far:

Accepted: Kentucky, Tennessee, Brooklyn
Waiting to hear from: North Carolina, WUSTL, Alabama, Georgia, Cardozo, Richmond, William & Mary, Berkeley, and Duke

Hopefully some of these schools will look favorably on both of us :)

Please explain why it's so important to go to law school now at the expense of job prospects and/or scholarship money.

Not being a dick, because some people usually have some convincing reasons to do it. But why is it so urgent when many 2Ls and 3Ls all say that work experience and the school you go to are two of the biggest contributors in finding a job?
